Electrical Panel Upgrades with a clear plan.

01 / Panel upgrades & subpanels

An upgrade with a clear purpose

An EV charger, electric appliances, air conditioning or added equipment can change a property’s electrical needs. We review the existing service and proposed loads before recommending a panel replacement, a subpanel or another suitable approach. More breaker spaces alone do not establish available electrical capacity.

Panel and service replacements

A panel project may involve the enclosure, breakers, circuit identification, grounding and bonding, or service equipment. Your written estimate identifies the equipment and work included. Utility-side changes and existing wiring corrections are reviewed separately so the scope is clear.

03 / Panel upgrades & subpanels

Subpanels and additional circuits

A subpanel can provide a practical distribution point for a garage, workshop or business area when the existing system can supply it. We plan its location, feeder route and circuit needs together. Feeder distance, access and the condition of an existing raceway affect the work.

Clean installation and clear handoff

We plan the layout, identify the circuits included in the work and discuss the expected power interruption before installation. Share equipment additions early so they can be considered during planning. Our workmanship is backed by a 5-year warranty.

Tell us what you want to power and what you want to improve. We’ll define the electrical work before installation.

What affects panel-upgrade pricing?

The estimate depends on service size, panel location, feeder and service condition, required grounding work, breaker types and access. A straightforward same-location project differs from a relocation or an underground service alteration. Permit charges, utility fees, trenching and wall restoration are identified in the quote rather than assumed to be included.

Permits, utilities and scheduling

Panel and service work should be planned around the approval and inspection steps applicable to the property. We discuss permit coordination and whether utility involvement is needed for the proposed work. Review timing, outage duration and completion dates depend on the final scope and the responsible authorities; they are confirmed during planning.

Electrical Panel Upgrades: common questions

Does adding an EV charger always mean replacing my panel?

No. The recommendation depends on the existing service, the proposed charging load and the rest of the property’s electrical demands. An assessment helps determine whether a panel upgrade, a different charging arrangement or compatible load management is appropriate.

Is a subpanel the same as a service upgrade?

No. A subpanel distributes power from an existing supply. It does not by itself increase the capacity available from the utility service. We review both distribution needs and capacity before recommending the work.

Are permits and wall repairs included?

Your estimate states what is included. Permit coordination, actual authority fees, utility requirements, trenching and finish repairs should be addressed explicitly in the written scope.

How do I request a panel estimate?

Send your address, project goals and available panel photos through Jobber. We will follow up about an assessment and the next steps. Please leave panel covers in place.
